What you’ll do:

  • Lead hardware and software strategy and development for a new technology investigation on the Spectacles AR device

  • Have ownership and accountability over creating new technology systems and integrating them into the device roadmap

  • Foster a culture of innovation and mentor the tech team to drive programs from product definition and technology development through delivery

  • Work closely with executives and stakeholders to align product requirements, technical challenges, lead-times, and business needs

  • Drive team budget, organizational structures, and talent management plans to meet needs of organization

  • Plan milestones, anticipate setbacks, and support troubleshooting and/or mitigation plans

  • Manage a team of mechanical, electrical, software, ML, and research engineers 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise in hardware and software dependencies (including sensor inputs, system integration, and HCI)

  • Commercial experience within AR or consumer electronics is a bonus 

  • Strong motivational leadership skills 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent years of experience

  • Proven leadership experience as a CTO at a startup, or interdisciplinary engineering management at a tech company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of system integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components

  • Experience driving complex programs in a fast-paced consumer electronics environment
