You will be responsible for micro-architecting, designing, implementing and debugging our IP designs, in close cooperation with our architecture and verification team. You will be part of a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers and scientists, and you are expected to be a key driver of the team’s further growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement our state-of-the-art artificial intelligence IPs for wearable devices that lead to exciting launches of hardware at Snap

  • Implement the steps in the development cycle of our IPs (micro architecture definition, RTL design, gate-level synthesis, PPA optimization)

  • Debugging the design, in close collaboration with the verification team

  • Develop and maintain flows for regression tests, synthesis, linting, power analysis etc

  • Analyze code coverage and provide feedback to the verification team to achieve coverage closure

  • Work in close collaboration with our other R&D departments who work on neural network design and optimization, AI compilers, and operating systems

  • Be an integral part of a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers and scientists, and a key driver of the team’s further growth

  • Author clear and comprehensive documentation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ample hands-on experience with state-of-the-art RTL design methodologies and languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL)

  • Experience with all aspects of DfX, such as testability, MBIST+Repair, yield enhancement, test patterns, memory ECC, and debug infrastructure

  • Solid programming and scripting skills (2+ years of e.g. C, SystemC, C++, Python)

  • Proactive, flexible, team player with can-do attitude and excellent problem analysis skills

  • Proven experience in process development and documentation

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSc degree in related field such as electrical engineering or equivalent years of experience

  • 5+ years of experience in RTL hardware design and/or verification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analyzing coverage results

  • Experience in designing CPUs, GPUs, or NPUs

  • Experience in designing components of image signal processing or computer vision solutions

  • Understanding of physical aspects of silicon design, i.e. impact of design choices on timing, area, and power consumption

  • Working knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, neuromorphic compute

  • Experience with common requirement management practices, software engineering tools such as Git, etc.

  • A passion for Snapchat and creativity!
