We’re looking for a Mechanical Drafter & PLM Specialist to join the Mechanical Engineering, Chandler Team at Snap Inc!
What you’ll do:
Utilize CAD (SolidWorks) for creation of all component drawings, assembly drawings, and integration control drawings (ICD) for the Mechanical Engineering team as well as in support of the Optical and Electrical Engineering teams.
Coordinate with engineers, scientists, operations, project management and other design/project originators to establish final output acceptance and ensure drawing/documentation standards are met, often from rough initial design or specification input.
Organize, manage and maintain the CAD product data management (PDM) system.
Maintain documentation control and administration of the product lifecycle management (PLM) system by working with originators to establish part numbers and bills of material (BOM) as well as verifying all drawings, CAD files and supporting documentation are in place with approvals while guaranteeing adherence to product release protocols.
Perform change analyst role for the PLM system, facilitating the routing and release of engineering change orders (ECO) and other release/routing processes with regards to BOMs, drawings, CAD models and other documentation.
Act as the backend PLM administrator responsible for changes to the PLM system function, making modifications and controlling permissions.
Assist with other document control, template creation/admin, some 3D modeling tasks, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD system and drafting capabilities.
Knowledge of engineering terminologies as they relate to mechanical design, manufacturing and drafting.
Knowledge of drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
Skilled at producing detailed dimensioned component and assembly drawings from 3D CAD models.
Knowledge of other file formats that can be utilized in conjunction with CAD systems such as STEP, DXF, DWG, IGES, etc.
Knowledge of working with product data management systems (PDM) and/or storage vaults for CAD system data.
Knowledge working with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, BOM structuring, and hierarchical subassembly building.
Ability to take recognize inconstancies, inefficiencies, and make corrections to improve.
Ability to drive completion of owned projects, often pushing others to complete tasks (such as driving review and sign-off of ECOs).
Skilled at working with MS Word, Excel, Google suite, PDFs, and other forms documentation.
Good written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree (or higher) or mechanical drafting certification
2+ years of relevant practical work experience drafting using 3D CAD system(s)
4+ years of equivalent/relevant practical work experience in lieu of associate’s degree or mechanical drafting certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience specifically with SolidWorks CAD modeling/drafting and/or SolidWorks certification(s)
Experience specifically with NX CAD modeling/drafting and/or NX certification(s)
Experience working specifically with PLM systems
Experience working specifically with CAD PDM systems

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $94,000-$141,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
