Technical Artist

We’re looking for a Technical Artist  to join the Bitmoji team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

• Automate art processes to allow asset creation at scale

• Create and optimize pipelines to enhance workflow efficiency and scalability for the art team

• Design and implement tools to streamline artist workflows, focusing on automation and ease of use

• Collaborate with artists, production, and engineers to ensure workflows meet technical needs

• Assist artists in production by troubleshooting issues and providing technical guidance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of Autodesk Maya, Maya API, and file management.

• Deep understanding of Python scripting and coding best practices

• Understanding of art fundamentals and artist workflows

• Production proven end-to-end understanding of the 3D/2D pipelines

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree degree in Computer Science, Animation or equivalent years of experience

• 2+ years of experience working as a Technical Artist or related position

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working with Autodesk Maya

• PySide/PyQt, Git, C++, JavaScript, Autodesk Shotgrid/Flow, Perforce, and Maya plugin development

• Rigging, creation of modular rigging solutions, and automation of rigging process

• Experience in a real time engine such as Lens Studio, Unity, or Unreal

• Experience with GenAI tools such as ComfyUI

• Experience in SideFX Houdini

• Experience writing shaders in GLSL to create new materials and/or effects

• Experience using Maya's standalone to batch process files, and assets.
