We’re looking for a Sensor Architect to join the Spectacles team!
What you’ll do:
Manage vendor relationships for custom silicon sensor development and qualification
Drive cross-functional collaboration across optics, computer vision, and compute teams
Influence key architectural decisions and drive consensus on critical trade-offs
Develop test methodologies and characterization plans for sensor performance
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for sensor performance issues
Travel up to 15%
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge optics and camera systems for imaging, depth mapping, and biometric sensing
Skills with basic programming and data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Python, etc.)
Experience in electronic design and digital logic
Ability to work independently and manage internal and external resources
Ability to consider system level impacts and tradeoffs in a highly constrained platform
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to collaborate and operate in a fast-paced cross-functional environment including engineering teams, vendors, suppliers, and outside resource management.
Minimum Qualifications:
11+ years of post-Bachelor’s in optics, physics, electrical engineering, semiconductor devices experience in CMOS image sensor development and qualification; or Master’s degree +10 years of post-grad experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field +7 years of post-grad experience
Experience with single photon detectors (e.g. SPADs, jots, APDs, SiPMs, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or master’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field
3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process development, design, and/or program management of image sensors for consumer electronics platforms
Experience with depth mapping and direct time of flight (dTOF) depth measurement systems
Experience designing pixel and sensor level logic
Experience with computational imaging, computer vision, and machine learning for image processing

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
