The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact. We’re looking for an Associate General Counsel to join our team. You’ll play a key role in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and advising on legal issues spanning the breadth of Snap’s products and services. Working from our Santa Monica, CA or New York, NY office, In this role you’ll collaborate with colleagues throughout the company to develop creative solutions that manage risk, with a focus on supporting our Sales and Ad Review teams.
What you’ll do:
Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret agreements covering a range of Snap’s commercial activities, including advertising sales and incentive agreements, data processing, ad tech, consumer and business product terms, online platform terms, and partner/vendor agreements
Provide legal guidance and support to Snap’s Sales, Ad Review teams, and cross-functional business teams
Develop and apply policies and practices, navigating legal compliance and risk tolerance
Manage multiple deals and support colleagues to ensure business initiatives are executed accurately and on time
Provide tactical and strategic legal advice to Snap business and product leaders, including related to Snap’s advertising policies
Collaborate with outside counsel
Coordinate with colleagues from every part of the company as part of cross-functional teams
Handle projects at the discretion of the Commercial leadership team
Exercise sound judgment when negotiating key business and legal terms

Background working with both internal and external partners, including sales teams
Ability to drive collaboration and enjoys sharing of legal knowledge and expertise
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Ability to accommodate tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly
Minimum Qualifications:
J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Active membership in at least one United States state bar.
8+ years’ of relevant in-house or law firm experience
Experience advising in-house Sales or Review Operations teams
Experience advising on advertising policies
Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising clients on digital ad sales, marketing, and consumer/advertising regulation

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $276,000-$414,000 annually.
