We’re looking for an Electrical Engineering Lab Specialist to join the Spectacles team!
What you’ll do:
Perform functional testing on circuit board assemblies and electronic units following defined procedures.
Debug, diagnose, and thoroughly document electronic issues
Communicate data and findings effectively to engineering personnel and management.
Support engineering teams on development of prototypes
Manage the procurement of necessary support materials for engineering teams, including test equipment and various electrical and mechanical components.
Execute rework tasks on electrical boards and perform component soldering.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation using Google Workspace productivity tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
Ensure the lab is well-organized, clean, safe, and fully equipped to facilitate consumer electronics design and debugging activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets
Ability to solder small discrete SMT components such as 0402s, 0201s and 01005s
Operate standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters independently.
Familiarity with linux tools command line, flashing firmware, troubleshoot down to component level
Familiarity with reading schematics
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of related lab experience
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%)
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates and/or Bachelors degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering
5+ years of related lab experience
Experience with overseas manufacturing
Familiarity with low power/battery operated designs
Familiarity with PCB CAD tools such as OrCAD and Allegro
Great interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups
Excellent process development and documentation skills
A passion for Snapchat and creativity!

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $89,000-$133,000 annually.
