We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!

What you’ll do

  • Analyse power integrity for custom integrated circuits and contribute to the development of processes and performance metrics

  • Perform board-level and silicon-level simulations of power networks

  • Measure and characterize power networks using vector network analyzers (VNA), time-domain reflectometry (TDR), and other relevant lab equipment

  • Collaborate with Physical Design (PD), Electrical Engineering (EE), and RF teams to evaluate system-level tradeoffs related to placement, signal integrity, power integrity, and power distribution in highly constrained form-factor designs

  • Contribute to schematic design and PCB layout reviews

  • Test and validate electrical designs, including memory interfaces, power regulators, and power delivery networks

  • Debug hardware issues, including power quality and high-speed signal integrity

  • Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective actions

  • Conduct component analysis, schematic design, circuit reviews, layout reviews, and general hardware debugging

  • Document test results, design decisions, and engineering findings, and communicate them effectively with cross-functional teams

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals

  • Experience with electronic design, including component selection and schematic design

  • Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture

  • Experience with lab instrumentation, including TDR and vector network analyzers (VNA)

  • Familiarity with 2.5D or 3D power delivery network (PDN) and signal integrity (SI) simulation tools

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent years of experience

  • 4+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Experience with power integrity, signal integrity, or power delivery network analysis

  • Experience with integrated circuit design concepts, such as VHDL or analog design

  • Familiarity with PCB layout strategies for meeting Power Delivery Network impedance targets

  • Experience developing and documenting engineering processes and test methodologies
