We're looking for a DevOps and Cloud Engineer to join the Spectacles Software Engineering Team at Snap! 

What you’ll do:

 As a member of the System Integration and Test (SIT) team, you'll be responsible for our Google Cloud projects used by the Spectacles organization. Working from our Vienna office, you'll be collaborating closely with the Snap hardware and software teams around the world. In addition you will: 

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain the Google Cloud infrastructure, including comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems.

  • Cost Optimization: Design and implement strategies to achieve significant cost savings on cloud expenses.

  • Developer Support & Velocity:

  • Provide the engineering team with optimized solutions for local development and continuous integration.Collaborate with global SIT teams to boost the Developer Velocity for the Spectacles organization.

  • Innovation & Quality: Rapidly bring cutting-edge Research & Development solutions into production, maintaining a high bar for quality and ensuring efficient iteration.

  • System Improvement: Regularly use the products being built to gain context and continually improve the underlying systems supporting product development.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction

  • Exceptional skills in root cause analysis.

  • Scripting (shell, python) and linux command-line skills

  • Very good knowledge of Git, including LFS, hooks, bisect, merge strategies, repo, submodules.

  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD configurations and workflows (Jenkins, Github, TeamCity)

  • Containerization/Virtualization: Docker containers administration and deployment

  • Team player with great communication and customer oriented skills and focus

  • Fluent in English

  • Natural curiosity for products, new technology and innovation

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or Engineering or Equivalent Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Unix / Linux environments

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles

  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification

  • Deep experience in monitoring, alerting and cost savings for GCE and GCS

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification 

  • Integrating CI/CD pipelines with Machine Learning Platform (MCP) or Large Language Model (LLM) tools.

  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT.

  • Valuable Assets (Experience with any of the following is a plus):

    • Configuration Management: Ansible

    • Monitoring and Analytics: BigQuery, Looker, Grafana

    • Networking: VPC networking, Load balancing

    • Containerization and Artifacts: Kubernetes, Docker Registry, JFROG Artifactory

  • A strong passion for creativity and solving cutting edge industry problems
