We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Computer Vision R&D team in Vienna, Austria! 

In this role, you will be working on state of the art computer vision technologies to straddle the boundaries between the real and the virtual world with the next generation of Snap’s wearable computing devices. Working from our Vienna office, you will be collaborating closely with other Specs hardware and software teams around the world.

What you’ll do:

• Developing and integrating cutting-edge Computer Vision algorithms for low-powered devices

• Design and implement tools for analyzing performance and code quality as well as work on tests and data visualization.

• Work together with our cross-functional engineering and research teams in software engineering, computer vision, machine learning and graphics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge in C++

• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and computer system architecture

• Ability to understand, debug and improve existing code

• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

• A genuine passion for learning new things and helping colleagues improve.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree in a technical field such as computer science, mathematics or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience in software development with modern C++.

• Good understanding of linear algebra, geometry and optimization

• Basic working knowledge in geometric computer vision and/or machine learning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in one of the following areas:

  • Computational Photography

  • SLAM

  • 3D reconstruction

  • Depth estimation

  • Object detection, classification, segmentation or tracking

  • Scene understanding

• Experience with ML hardware acceleration and common ML frameworks

• Experience with performance profiling (memory, cache, CPU)
