We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager, Hardware to join Spectacles Hardware Engineering team at Snap! You’ll be responsible for the design, development, and innovation of Snap hardware with the objective of delivering first-in-class consumer electronics hardware.

 What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with development teams in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software, and operations to define product requirements and identify optimal design strategies for device performance and manufacturing, for next generation hardware modules.

  • Coordinate scoping, definition, and execution of next generation hardware modules

  • Define and audit stage gates and milestones related to hardware modules; delivering regular updates to senior leadership while meeting aggressive schedules

  • Lead and manage to deliver hardware modules per project timelines

  • Manage budgets for development, builds and supplier/vendor relationships

  • Effectively communicate the program status to multi-functional partners and leadership. 

  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts quickly and efficiently. 

  • Build strong working relationships and foster collaboration between teams

  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate program risks and dependencies

  • Drive best practices and production processes in a fast-paced environment

  • Plan milestones, anticipate setbacks, and support troubleshooting and/or contingency plans

  • Develop business relationships with external partners, contractors, and vendors


 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Technical background and solid understanding of engineering principles, preferably in the areas of Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Hands-on experience driving consumer hardware module solutions to mass manufacture

  • Strong understanding of  hardware module development process, milestones, risk identification, and mitigation.  

  • Positive, can-do attitude and experience coaching and inspiring team to overcome technical challenges

  • Strong communication skills and experience sharing updates with team members and leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent years of experience

  • 6+ years of industry relevant experience

  • Technical background and solid understanding of engineering principles, preferably in the areas of Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Proven experience developing hardware modules and scaling products to mass production

  • Excellent understanding of hardware architecture and interoperability of complex systems

  • Experience in managing projects, including defining scope, timelines, and priorities

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and build strong relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate program status and issues to stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve program goals and objectives

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in developing hardware modules in consumer electronics

  • Prior experience with one or more of the following technologies: Display, Camera, Audio, Wireless, and Sensors

  • Familiar with product development cycle from proof of concept through mass production

  • Clear communication

  • Proven track record in teamwork and cross-functional collaboration

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually.


This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
