We're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the Business Experience group as part of our Ads Platform organization. The Ads Platform team is responsible for Snap’s revenue platform. The data captured from the platform yields solutions for Snapchat’s customers, enabling them to maximize their monetization efforts across all of Snapchat’s services. We focus on driving measurable return on investment for businesses. The Business Experience organization includes Business Interfaces, Business APIs, Business Platform, Recommendations, Business Experience ML Platform, and Creator Monetization. The overall focus for the Business Experience group is to build a seamless business journey that empowers brands and advertisers to unlock meaningful value on Snap — from first activation to long-term growth. You will manage teams in Bellevue/Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Palo Alto, and New York, and collaborate with leaders across Snap to deliver the highest quality product for our customers.
What you’ll do:
Work with internal and external stakeholders to re-envision and scale Business Experience
Drive Business Interfaces, Business APIs, Business Platform, Recommendations, Business Experience ML Platform, and Creator Monetization.
Focus on improved ease of use and effectiveness of the technology and the platform supporting users of the platform
Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver the solutions needed to build innovative products or services
Advocate for and apply best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
Provide technical direction across the Business Experience organization
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Business Experience teams across multiple offices
Develop organizational-level goals and drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the engineering team
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Product and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices
Build and develop a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
Mentor a team of engineering managers and senior independent contributors
Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Apply your ability to be nimble to pivot and adjust plans to address customer and business need
Minimum qualifications:
BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
12+ years of software engineering experience
6+ years of experience managing a team
Experience with the Ad Tech and online marketing technologies
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated experience leading a large team at scale and managing engineering with an eye to driving efficiency
Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
Experience with Machine Learning
Experience with mobile apps development
Experience with UI, API and Data platforms

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $334,000-$500,000 annually.
