The DevEx Studio team enables creators and developers to create augmented reality experiences in the form of Lenses through Lens Studio. The team builds experiences with new AR technologies, and helps others develop their own through tools, example projects, documentation, and more. We are looking for creative engineers who are excited to help others push the boundaries of AR.
We’re looking for an AR Engineer to join Developer Experience Studio at Snap Inc!
What you’ll do:
Experiment, design, improve, and support reusable components and frameworks that improve developer experiences for pushing the boundaries of AR.
Enhance, expand, and help put together Lens Studio learning resources (e.g. documentation, sample projects, tutorials, videos, code examples, etc.).
Work cross functionally to identify and close gaps in the Lens Studio developer experience.
Field highly technical Lens Studio questions raised by external Lens developers to ensure they are getting the most out of Lens Studio.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency programming in JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages (C#, C++, etc.).
Understanding of 3D graphics concepts and familiarity with 3D packages (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or Cinema4D).
Flexibility in learning and using various tools related to improving developer experience (e.g. video editing, course development, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate and distill complex topics to various internal and external partners.
Strong analytical skills which allow for creative methods to achieve results, and solve problems cross functionally.
Passion for the latest VR/AR/MR/Visual Compute technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience designing and developing real-time interactive experiences or similar experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing highly interactive experiences such as apps, games, or Lenses in Lens Studio.
Experience designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines, including but not limited to Unity, Unreal, Three.js, OpenFrameworks, Processing, and WebGL/OpenGL.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $157,000-$235,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
